Igala Youth President Expresses Shock At Odu Akowe’s Resignation From PDP
The national Pesident  of Igala Youth Empowerment Initiative, Prince Momoh Enema, has expressed shock at the sudden resignation of a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP stalwart in Kogi State,  Comrade Akowe Odu.
In a statement, the youth president said, Odu’s resignation from the party he is one of the foundation members in 1998, is a huge loss to the PDP in Ochadamu Ward, Ofu local government of Kogi State and the country at large.
“Odu Akowe is a well known grassroots moboliser, philanthropist and a dedicated party man. Since joining the Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP from its inception in 1998, he has used his hard earned resources to assist the less privileged and sponsor the party’s activities.
“Akowe expended his resources to bring electricity and sunk many boreholes to his community, Owowolo, Ofu local government, Kogi State.”
Prince Enema explained further that Akowe’s philanthropic gesture also cut across the nine local governments of Kogi East.
“Odu’s contribution to rhe wellbeing of humanity also transcends beyond his immediate community to the nine local government area of Kogi East and the state at large. The artisans, market women, farmers and youths have benefitted immensely from him.
“He single-handedly built an office for the Igala Youth Empowerment Initiative at along Idah Road, Anyigba, Kogi state.”
He reiterated that because of Akowe’s large-heartedness, many followers were endeared to the PDP, explaining that his resignation will certainly dampened the fortune and morale of the party in Kogi state.
On his next political direction, Comrade Odu revealed that he’s still consulting with his supporters and that, soon, his new party will be announced.
It would be recalled that, Comrade Odu had in a resignation letter, dated August 28th, 2023, and addressed to the ward chairman of Ochadamu, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he joined from inception in 1998, citing the need to tread a new political direction.
