Israel has carried out fresh airstrikes targeting key sites in Syria’s capital, Damascus, including areas near the presidential palace and the Syrian Defence Ministry.
The attacks killed at least three people and left 34 others injured, according to local reports.
These strikes follow recent warnings from Israeli officials, who demanded the withdrawal of Syrian forces from the country’s south.
The region has seen ongoing clashes between the Syrian military and Druze communities, escalating tensions further.
At the same time, in the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian crisis deepens. The local Health Ministry reported that 21 people were killed in an airstrike on a food aid distribution point linked to the Global Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an organization supported by the United States and Israel.
Conditions in Gaza continue to worsen under the ongoing Israeli siege. The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees has warned that one out of every ten children examined in their clinics is suffering from malnutrition.
Aid agencies say the blockade is pushing the population into a man-made famine, with supplies of food, clean water, and medical care becoming increasingly scarce.
The conflict in Gaza, which began after the October 7, 2023, attacks led by Hamas, has resulted in heavy loss of life. The Health Ministry in Gaza states that 58,573 people have been killed and 139,607 injured since the start of the war.
In Israel, around 1,139 people were killed during the October attacks, and over 200 individuals were taken hostage by Hamas fighters.
The situation remains tense across the region, with military operations spreading beyond Gaza and drawing in neighboring countries. Humanitarian organizations continue to call for ceasefires and better access to civilians in need.
