Hong Kong action cinema legend Jackie Chan has announced plans to donate his vast fortune, estimated to be around $400 million, to charity. The 67-year-old actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon, revealed his intentions in a recent interview.
“I’ve always wanted to donate my wealth to charity, but I was waiting for the right time,” Chan said. “Now, I think it’s the right moment to give back to society.”
Chan, who has been in the entertainment industry for over five decades, has amassed a significant fortune through his successful film career, as well as various business ventures and endorsement deals.
“I’ve been blessed with a successful career and a lot of wealth, and I feel it’s my responsibility to use it to make a positive impact on the world,” Chan said. “I’m not taking anything with me when I die, so I’d rather give it away and see the difference it can make in people’s lives.”
Chan’s charitable efforts will focus on education, healthcare, and disaster relief, among other causes. He has already begun donating to various organizations and plans to establish his own charitable foundation.
“Giving back to society is not just about writing a check; it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives,” Chan said. “I want to be involved in the process and see the impact of my donations firsthand.”
Chan’s decision to donate his fortune has inspired many of his fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. “Jackie Chan is a true legend and a role model,” said a fellow actor. “His generosity and commitment to giving back to society are an inspiration to us all.”
