The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, shifting it from Friday, 31 January 2025, to Monday, 3 February 2025.
According to JAMB, the adjustment is necessary to allow for essential modifications to its registration processes.
The decision follows recent changes regarding certain law programmes at some universities, as recommended by the Council for Legal Education.
Speaking on behalf of JAMB, its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, revealed that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had been found using deceptive means to secure accreditation. As a result, the Board is conducting a review to disapprove such centres and ensure a credible examination process.
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience.
The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process,” JAMB stated.
The UTME is a crucial examination for students seeking admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
Candidates are advised to stay updated with official announcements from JAMB regarding the registration process.
