The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended law admissions in eight universities across Nigeria for the 2025/2026 academic session.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, announced on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, that the decision followed the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme in these institutions by the Council of Legal Education.
Affected universities include:
1. Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin
2. Bingham University, Karu
3. Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike
4. Redeemer’s University, Ede
5. Western Delta University, Oghara
6. Taraba State University, Jalingo
7. Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo
8. Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil
Benjamin further stated that the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy would extend to the 2026/2027 academic session.
This development means that JAMB will not process law admissions for these universities until further notice.
