Joshua vs. Dubois Rematch Set for February 2025
A highly anticipated rematch between IBF world heavyweight boxing champion Daniel Dubois and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is slated for February 2025, according to Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.
Speaking after the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol press conference, Alalshikh revealed that the matchup will be part of the Riyadh Season, a festival of entertainment and sports events. “See in February again Queensberry against Matchroom, 5 vs. 5, we will finish it maybe this week with a big surprise,” Alalshikh told Sky Sports.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that the rematch will take place in Riyadh, stating, “I think it would be part of Riyadh Season in Riyadh. Riyadh Season runs from October to the end of February and early March.”
Dubois’ promoter, Frank Warren, welcomed the rematch, saying, “It’s all about styles, but also with AJ, you’ve got to put him on the back foot… He put him on the back foot. That first jab he threw snapped his head back, and that set the pattern of the fight.”
The initial bout saw Dubois defeat Joshua in a stunning upset at Wembley Stadium, dropping him several times before securing a knockout victory in Round 5.
