Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has issued an Executive Order directing the immediate payment of all outstanding pensions, gratuities, and related entitlements to verified pensioners in the state.
The order was announced in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yusuf Sanda.
According to the statement, the directive reflects the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of retired workers who served the state diligently.
“Taraba State must honour those who dedicated their lives to public service. Their dignity is non-negotiable, and attending to their welfare is our moral duty,” Kefas said.
He added that a special outreach team would be deployed across all local government areas, wards, and villages to identify pensioners who are alive but incapacitated, ensuring they receive their entitlements without difficulty.
The Ministry of Finance has also been instructed to submit weekly compliance reports to the Governor’s office, with no administrative bottlenecks tolerated during the process.
The government urged pensioners to remain calm, assuring them that the payment process has been prioritised and is being handled with urgency.
