The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commissioned the Lokoja branch of Premium Trust Bank, marking a significant milestone in the state’s economic development. The governor expressed delight in welcoming the bank to Kogi State, describing it as a testament to the state’s business-friendly environment and vast opportunities.
“We continue to provide a business-friendly environment that attracts credible, high-value investors,” Governor Ododo said. “Our deliberate policies on ease of doing business, security, and infrastructure are yielding visible results.”
The governor thanked the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Premium Trust Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Efe Emefienim, for believing in Kogi State’s vision for prosperity. “This new branch will not only create jobs but will also expand access to financial services for our people,” he added.
Governor Ododo highlighted Kogi State’s rich resources, including the largest cement factory in Africa, vast iron ore deposits, and over 30 mineral resources. He invited investors to take advantage of the state’s opportunities, assuring them of a stable and supportive business environment.
The governor also called on financial institutions to support Kogi State’s development efforts, particularly in industrialization and agricultural transformation. “When banks empower society through loans, business support, and community investments, society in turn builds the stability and prosperity that keep the banks in business,” he said.
In his remarks, Governor Ododo appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his reforms in the financial sector, which have strengthened banks and increased depositor confidence.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring Kogi State remains a safe, stable, and attractive environment for businesses to thrive. “We will continue to support institutions like Premium Trust Bank to grow and serve the people better,” he said.
With the commissioning of the Premium Trust Bank, Governor Ododo expressed optimism that it would contribute to building an economy that works for everyone in Kogi State.
