Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has sworn in ten new judges, urging them to uphold the tenets of the judiciary and serve the people with integrity, fairness, and dedication. At the swearing-in ceremony,
Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of a just and fair society, where everyone is treated equally, regardless of class, religion, or ethnicity.
“A just and fair society is where everybody is treated equally. Therefore, you must be reminded and guided by the oaths you have just taken,” Governor Ododo said.

The new judges, comprising High Court judges, Khadis of the Shariah Court of Appeal, and a judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, were charged to respect the integrity of all litigants, shun media trials, and avoid activities that may ridicule the judiciary.
The Governor assured that his administration would provide an enabling environment for the judges to discharge their statutory responsibilities.
The Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, and the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Muiz Abdallah, also urged the new judges to uphold the integrity of the judiciary and justify their selection as judges of the State.
