“The elevation of Major General Shaibu is a source of pride and inspiration to the people of Kogi State,” Governor Ododo said. “His record of professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty stands him out as a fine officer and true patriot.”

The Governor expressed confidence in the ability of the new Chief of Army Staff to deliver on the mandate of strengthening the Nigerian Army to defend the nation and sustain ongoing efforts to improve security across the country.

“While congratulating Major General Shaibu on his well-deserved appointment, Governor Ododo assured Mr. President of the unflinching support and loyalty of the Government and people of Kogi State to his administration,” the statement read.

The Governor also prayed for divine wisdom and protection for the new Army Chief as he discharges his duties in the service of the nation.

“We are proud of Major General Shaibu’s achievements and we have no doubt that he will make a significant impact in his new role,” Governor Ododo said, as quoted in the statement.

The Kogi State Government’s reaction to the appointment is a testament to the good relationship between the State and the Federal Government, with the Governor’s praise for President Tinubu’s decision reflecting the State’s appreciation for the appointment.

As the new Chief of Army Staff takes up his assignment, the people of Kogi State and indeed Nigerians are eagerly waiting to see the impact of his leadership on the nation’s security landscape.
