Kogi Govt Reiterates Commitment to Service Delivery, Good Governance

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has emphasised the importance of excellent service delivery to the people of Kogi State, stressing that it is the core business of government.

During the just concluded two-day capacity building workshop for Special Advisers at the Glass House in Government House Lokoja, the Governor hinted at introducing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) assessments to evaluate government officials’ performance, value for money spent, and impact on the people.

The Kogi State Government aims to track performance, ensuring value addition by all officials.

The event which was declared open by the Governor as represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State Dr Folashade Arike Ayoade is a gathering put together to build the capacity of the Special Advisers to aid their day to day discharge of duties.

The SGS announced that the business of the government has become more serious and requires the seriousness of all government officials in making frantic efforts to assist the Government to succeed. Dr Ayoade challenged the Special Adviser to “devise more means to ensure they are seen to be punctual and perform at their points of duties”

The Chairman of the Forum has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises with the people of Kogi State, ensuring service delivery, good governance, and shared prosperity. He emphasized the crucial role Special Advisers play in achieving these goals, stating that they are well-prepared to drive governance for the benefit of the people and support the success of Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Renowned development expert and Pastor of the Potters Porch Int’l, Pastor John Taiye Aboyeji, stressed the importance of commitment, loyalty, hard work, and responsibility in effective leadership. He highlighted these traits as essential for Special Advisers to make a meaningful impact.

Hon. Usman Ochidi, former Chairman of the Forum and current Member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, shared his expertise on the key responsibilities Special Advisers must undertake to succeed. His insights provided valuable guidance for those in these critical roles.

With Governor Ododo at the helm, Kogi State is poised for growth and development, prioritizing the well-being of its citizens always.
