Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged citizens to embrace peace, love, and compassion for the less privileged as Nigeria joins the global celebration of Christmas.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo described Christmas as a time to reflect on the values of Jesus Christ, including love, unity, and selflessness.
“This festive season is a time to celebrate love, unity, and to reflect on the eternal values of peace, hope, and selfless service that define the life and teachings of Jesus Christ,” Ododo said.
The governor emphasized the importance of compassion and reaching out to those in need, calling on citizens to strengthen community bonds and extend kindness.
“It is a time to reach out to those in need, share the warmth of our hearts, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people,” he added.
Ododo praised the people of Kogi State for their resilience and peaceful coexistence, encouraging them to embody the virtues of Jesus Christ, which include generosity and unity.
He expressed optimism that the spirit of Christmas would inspire further progress and development in the state under his administration.
The governor concluded by urging families and neighborhoods to deepen their bonds of love and friendship, highlighting the significance of collective effort in building a harmonious society.
As festivities continue, Governor Ododo called for reflection on the teachings of Jesus Christ and renewed commitment to the values of compassion, tolerance, and kindness.
