Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has asked the United States and France to step in and stop Israel’s military operations.
He called on the two countries to act on their role as guarantors of the ceasefire and prevent the situation from getting worse.
The Lebanese president made this appeal after Israeli warplanes bombed the Hadath area in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The attack caused fear and unrest among the people living in the area, raising new worries about the growing violence between Israel and Lebanon.
President Aoun reacted strongly to the airstrike, warning that Israel’s actions could lead to even greater dangers for the region. He pointed out that repeated attacks would only make the region more unstable and could pull Lebanon and its neighbors into a broader conflict.
Israeli media said the air force targeted a building in the suburbs that was linked to Hezbollah. According to Israeli sources, the building held weapons belonging to the group. However, independent confirmation of this claim was not available at the time.
The airstrike is the latest in a series of incidents that have worsened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. For many people in Lebanon, these developments are a worrying sign that the country could be drawn into deeper conflict if immediate steps are not taken to calm the situation.
Lebanon’s government is now putting pressure on the international community, especially the US and France, to act quickly. Officials fear that without serious diplomatic efforts, the violence could spread and create even more chaos in a region already under heavy strain.
