Man Issues Public Apology for Defamatory Statements Against Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, Wife
A man, Godwin Ikuru, has issued a public apology for making defamatory, abusive, and hurtful statements against Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC).
In a statement, Ikuru expressed his “sincere apologies” for his actions, stating that his words were “misleading, fallacious, intensive, hurtful, damaging, and completely unacceptable.”
“It has become clear to me that my words were not only misleading and fallacious, but also intensive, hurtful, damaging and completely unacceptable,” Ikuru said.
Ikuru revealed that he had been arrested and charged to court for cyberbullying, but was released due to the intervention of Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche and his wife. “I owe my freedom to the leniency of Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche and his wife to intervene in this case and temper justice with mercy,” he said.
Ikuru warned others against engaging in cyberbullying, especially against reputable and genuine men of God and fathers of faith in Nigeria. “This should also serve as deterrence to all those who engage in cyberbullying… to desist from their nefarious acts or face the wrath of the law,” he said.
Ikuru reiterated that Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche and his wife had never offended him, and that any negative statements he made against them were “unfounded and untrue.” He described them as “reputable servants of God” and expressed his deep regret for any distress, hurt, and embarrassment his actions may have caused.
“I deeply regret any distress, hurt, and embarrassment my actions has caused them, their family, and followers,” Ikuru said. “I beg them to please accept my most humble and sincere apologies. I have fully realized the consequences of my actions and I am committed to making all necessary amends.”
