This was occasioned due to the present administration’s policy of abandoning laudable projects initiated by the previous administration and the quest to bring tertiary heatlh facility to the people of the area, after the establishment of the State University Teaching Hospital at Anyigba by the last administration.

Reports gathered after eight years said the multi million naira project as at the time it was initiated in 2015, had advanced beyond excavation stage with necessary rod laying and design concluded before the end of the administration.

The abandoned projects was to facilitate the new department of Medicine established by the Wada administration also used the new teaching hospital for practicals among other medical based programs that was mooted during the administration.

As at press time , most of the laid rods and designs has been removed by hoodlums giving way to excavation of more items that facilitated the foundation design of the tertiary heatlh institution hospital.

The area is noe designated for criminal elements as hideouts after carrying out their heinous crimes within the locality of the university and outside the area.

Students involved in cult activities and other anti social behaviours like drugs and other related session have turned the 250 bed Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital PAAUTH to a newly found abode fat away from the main campus.

The new faculty of medicine engaged in outsourcing their programs and staffs from other universities like University of Ilorin, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, among others abandoning the structure and edifice named as the temporary site of Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital with additional structure with no single medical and other needed equipment.

A visit to the PAAUTH Anyigba in Kogi state only saw the abandoned structure named as the teaching hospital with a bogus structure as an addition to ultra modern edifice built by the state government.

From all indications, the teaching hospital either carry out primary, secondary or tertiary services as most of it’s equipment are obsolete.
