The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that more than 25 terrorists were killed during coordinated airstrikes in Borno and Yobe States.
The operation, which took place on 18 September 2025, was carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai in response to intelligence received from ground troops.
According to NAF, surveillance aircraft first spotted movements of terrorists around the northern part of Banki. The aircraft tracked their movement and provided live updates to both the base and ground soldiers. This made it possible to plan and carry out a joint strike.
Following the tracking, fighter jets were sent to attack the terrorists in three rounds of strikes. The strikes targeted their movement routes and gathering points, killing over 25 of them.
After the operation, surveillance confirmed that the ground troops maintained their positions and there were no further threats in the area.
NAF said the mission was aimed at denying the terrorists the freedom to operate and ensuring support for soldiers on the ground as part of ongoing efforts to secure the North-East.
