Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Validates PDP Membership, Urges Nigerians to Join Opposition Platform

By Achile Danjuma

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Tuesday officially validated her membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, urging Nigerians — particularly youths and party faithful — to follow suit as part of efforts to strengthen the opposition platform.

Akpoti-Uduaghan disclosed this via her verified social media platforms, confirming that she had completed her membership validation through the party’s electronic registration portal.

The senator reiterated that the PDP remains Nigeria’s strongest opposition platform and requires the active participation of members nationwide to deepen democratic engagement and promote political inclusiveness.

She said, “The domain for PDP e-registration, pdpnigeria.org, is now secure. I have validated my membership, do yours too. Register now. It is simple and easy.”

Her call comes amid renewed efforts by the PDP to reposition itself following internal challenges and electoral setbacks in recent election cycles, including the 2023 general elections, where the party lost the presidency but retained a significant presence in the National Assembly and across several states.

Akpoti-Uduaghan called on Nigerians, especially young people, to take advantage of the digital registration process to formally identify with the party and contribute to shaping the country’s political future.

She said her move aligned with ongoing efforts by the PDP leadership to digitise its membership database and revitalise grassroots participation ahead of upcoming political activities, including ward, local government, and state congresses.

The PDP recently introduced its electronic registration platform to simplify membership enrolment and validation, enabling members across the country and in the diaspora to register online, in what party leaders describe as a major step toward modernising its operations and expanding its support base.
