NBC Recruitment Followed Due Process: Management.

The National Broadcasting Commission NBC has clarified it’s recent employment exercise that involved about 242 new staff to the establishment.

A statement issued in reaction to the news of illegal recruitment by the new management, the agency clarified that due process was followed before the engagement of new staff.

The commission maintained that in line with the rules guiding engagement of workers in the public service, the National Broadcasting Commission NBC was granted waiver by the office of Head of Service of the Federation OHSF) to recruit 25O staff in June 2023.

The budget office reviewed the waiver and approved 242 vacancies to be filled through recruitment.

A clearance letter was further issued by the budget office to that effect.

The NBC also went ahead to obtain waiver from the Federal Character Commission FCC to conduct the exercise after fulfilling all necessary requirements.

The process of recruitment followed the lay down procedures with oral and written test carried out as candidates were picked across the geopolitical zones after the interview.

According to the statement, the current Director General who assumed duty in October, 2023 met the recruitment exericse at the last phase of completion.

“In line with rules guiding recruitment exericse in the service, the national broadcasting commission was granted a waiver by the office of the head of service june 2023 to recruitment 250 staff. The budget office reviewed the waiver and approved 242 vacancies to be filled through recruitment. ”

“A clearance letter was issued to the commission by the budget office. The nbc obtained a waiver from the Federal character commission to conduct the exercise after fulfilling all necessary requirements.”

“The recruitment exercise involved both written and oral test and candidates were picked across the geo political zones.”

“This is to ensure equitable spread of staff as required by the Federal character commission.”

“The current DG assumed duty on 20/10/2023 and met the exercise at the last phase of completion.”

The statement however asked the general public to disbelieve the insinuation of illegal recruitment by the new management in NBC.
