New Year: Ajaka Congratulates Kogites, Sues for Peace Despite Challenges
By Omonu YG Nelson

Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria – As the clock struck midnight on January 1st, 2024, a wave of optimism washed over Kogi State. Despite the trials and tribulations of 2023, marked by national difficulties and local complexities, a sense of hope for a brighter year resonated across the region.

Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, echoed this sentiment in a heartfelt New Year’s message to the people of Kogi.

“We must enter 2024 with unwavering faith in the resilience and potential of our great nation and its institutions,” declared Ajaka. “Together, we can overcome the challenges that threaten our collective confidence and pave the way for a year of restoration, justice, and righteousness.”

While acknowledging the ongoing struggles with economic hardship, corruption, and social cohesion, Ajaka urged Kogites to embrace peace and unity.

“Even as we await solutions to the intricate challenges we face, let us not abandon the principles of law and order,” he implored. “Let us remain peaceful and law-abiding, for it is through unity and unwavering belief in the integrity of our system that we can build a better future for Kogi State.”

Ajaka’s message resonated with many Kogites. Social media platforms buzzed with expressions of hope and determination to work towards a more prosperous and just future.

“The past year has been tough,” admitted Mariam Suleiman, a local business owner, “but Ajaka’s words remind us that we are not alone. With unity and dedication, we can turn the tide and make 2024 a year to remember.”

While the road ahead remains uncertain, Ajaka’s call for peace and optimism struck a chord in the hearts of many Kogites. As the New Year unfolds, all eyes are on Kogi State to see if this unwavering hope can translate into tangible progress and positive change.
