NICOS Launches COSMETICS CONNECT 2024 to Tap into $502 Billion Global Market
The Society of Cosmetic Scientists Nigeria (NICOS) is set to launch COSMETICS CONNECT 2024, a two-day networking event aimed at unlocking the potential of Africa’s cosmetics industry.
According to NICOS President, Grace Abamba, “Cosmetics are essential to everyday living, promoting personal hygiene and well-being. COSMETICS CONNECT 2024 aims to increase confidence in locally made products, grow sales, and foster international trade across Africa and beyond.”
The global cosmetics market is valued at $502 billion and projected to reach $758 billion by 2025. Africa accounts for just 8% of the global share, but the market is growing rapidly, with Nigeria’s market alone valued at $1.4 billion.
“COSMETICS CONNECT 2024 will provide a platform for stakeholders to come together, share knowledge, and explore opportunities for growth,” Abamba added.
The event, scheduled for November 19-20, 2024, at the CSN Resource Centre in Garki, Abuja, will feature seminars, business accelerator workshops, and exhibitions. Speakers from SMEDAN, NEPC, BOI, and NICOS will share insights on product formulation, registration, and creating export-ready products.
Registration is free for stakeholders who register before November 19. Interested parties can contact office@nicos-ng.org for sponsorship and exhibition opportunities.
As a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC), NICOS promotes the advancement of science and technology in the cosmetics and personal care industries.
“COSMETICS CONNECT 2024 is poised to unlock the potential of Africa’s cosmetics industry. We invite all stakeholders to join us in shaping the future of this booming industry,” Abamba concluded.
