Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps Gets FG Recognition

The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has received official recognition from the Federal Government through the Ministry of Youth Development, signalling a significant milestone in the organisation’s years of national service and community engagement.

The recognition was conveyed in a formal letter dated February 16, 2026, and addressed to the Corps Commanding Officer of the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps.

The organisation is a faith-based, non-combatant body engaged in chaplaincy services, humanitarian outreach, and initiatives aimed at promoting national unity, peace, and moral development across the country.

The letter, signed by an official of the ministry, Augustine Udoh, on behalf of the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, read in part, “The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is pleased to confirm that the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps is duly registered and recognised on its National Youth Organisation’s register as a youth-serving organisation that focuses on promoting peacebuilding and discipline through chaplaincy and humanitarian services.

“Note that your organisation will be expected to implement programmes and activities that will promote the wellbeing of Nigerian youths in line with the ministry’s mandate on youth development.”

According to a statement issued in Uyo on Thursday by the Corps Commanding Officer, Daniel Alimi, the recognition affirms the corps’ contributions to peacebuilding, moral discipline, and humanitarian services through chaplaincy and community-based initiatives across Nigeria.

The statement noted that the recognition followed several years of consistent engagement by the corps in promoting national unity, moral values, and support for security-conscious initiatives through spiritual and humanitarian efforts.

Alimi, in an interview with our correspondent in Uyo, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and members of the press for their continued support and coverage.

He commended the leadership of President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment that allows young people and patriotic citizens to contribute meaningfully to national development, noting that the recognition demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusiveness and support for initiatives that promote peace, unity, and national progress.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment that allows young people and patriotic citizens to contribute meaningfully to national development.

“This recognition demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusiveness and support for initiatives that promote peace, unity, and national progress,” Alimi said.

He also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Youth Development, acknowledging his dedication and leadership in advancing youth-focused initiatives and strengthening institutional collaboration.

The commanding officer reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps to its core objectives, including promoting moral discipline, fostering unity, and supporting national peace and security efforts through structured chaplaincy and outreach programmes.

He further offered prayers for the President, the Presidency, and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, expressing hope for continued wisdom, strength, and success in leadership and governance.
