Nigeria has intensified efforts to boost its domestic drone production by collaborating with Loong UAV, a Chinese leader in tactical drone solutions. The Federal Government, through the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), aims to enhance technological capabilities and expand access to critical services in remote areas.
Dr. Joseph Tegbe, Director-General of NCSP, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, saying, “This collaboration will not only bolster Nigeria’s drone technology but also foster economic growth by improving logistics and accessibility in hard-to-reach regions.”
The NCSP is also making strides in energy security, partnering with Chilwee Group, a leading Chinese manufacturer of advanced batteries. This agreement includes investments in renewable energy, manufacturing, and mining raw materials to support Nigeria’s power storage infrastructure.
“These initiatives reflect our commitment to socio-economic transformation and positioning Nigeria as a leader in Africa’s industrialisation,” Tegbe added.
The collaboration underscores Nigeria’s pursuit of innovative solutions to drive economic development while strengthening bilateral relations with China.
