Troops of the 6 Brigade have arrested seven suspected terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons in separate operations conducted across Taraba State.
According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, the Acting Assistant Director, 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, “On August 7, 2024, troops swiftly engaged bandits who attacked a Fulani settlement in Katlong Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of one suspected bandit, Yusuf Musa, with 1 AK 47 rifle and 20 rounds of ammunition.”
The statement further revealed that on August 6, 2024, troops arrested four suspected bandits – Yusuf Hassan, Mohammed Mamman, Haruna Illa, and Hammadu Shaibu – with items recovered including a motorcycle, four mobile phones, and N57,000.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade, commended the troops for their dedication and swift action, saying, “The Nigerian Army will continue to work closely with other security agencies and community leaders to eradicate all forms of criminal activities within Taraba State and its environs.”
General Uwa assured the public that the arrested suspects would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution, emphasizing that “the Nigerian Army appreciates the support and cooperation of the good people of Taraba State in providing valuable information that contributes to the success of these operations.”
The 6 Brigade reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security across the country, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
