Nigerian Army Bids Farewell to 15 Retired Generals
The Nigerian Army has formally bid farewell to 15 retired generals from the Artillery Corps in a ceremony held at the Nigerian Army School of Artillery in Kachia, Kaduna State.
The retirees comprised 11 Major Generals and four Brigadier Generals, who were praised for their years of dedicated service to the nation.
Maj. Gen. James Myam, speaking on behalf of the retired officers, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, saying, “We feel highly fulfilled and give all the glory to the Lord God Almighty for his benevolent mercies, grace, and preservation over the years”.

He also acknowledged the support of their families, spouses, friends, instructors, and mentors throughout their careers.
Myam reflected on their military journeys, which began at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna as Officer Cadets. He offered words of wisdom to serving officers, emphasizing loyalty to the Constitution and the democratically elected government, as well as vigilance and security consciousness.
The ceremony marked the end of an era for these dedicated military officers, and their contributions to the nation’s security will not be forgotten.
