Nigerian Envoy Advises Africans Against Exporting Fake Products To China

Consul General of the Nigeria's Consulate office in Shanghai, China, Chimezie Okeoma Ogu.

The African business community in Yiwu, Zhejiang province of China have been advised to shun the idea of collaborating with evil persons in exporting fake, expired and sub-standard goods and products to Africa.

This was contained in a release by the Nigeria’s Consulate Office in Shanghai, China.

The Consul General of the Nigeria’s Consulate office in Shanghai , Chimezie Okeoma Ogu, gave the advice in his remark as guest of honour during the end of the year ceremony by the African community in Yiwu.

The Nigeria consul General stated that such acts contributes to the destruction of African markets and economy, as well as jeopardizes the life and health of African people.

Furthermore, Ogu encouraged the African community in Yiwu to learn and adopt the best practices and experiences in there host city in China and to ensure that quality and best products are exported to their individual African countries, thereby contributing to the development of the respective economy.

The consul General also encourage them to exhibit exemplary character Australia be good ambassadors in their host city and as representatives of African cultures. According to Mr . Ogu, they are the mirror that reflects the quality and the level of African human development in their various places of business in China.

He also tasked Africans in the Yiwu China to leave harmoniously in the city as a wishes and well and success in the year 2024.

The occasion offered opportunity for the Nigerian representatives in Shanghai to convince a meeting of Nigerians doing business in Yiwu on a sideline of the event.

During the meeting the envoy further frowned on the issue of exporting fake and substandard goods and products from host city to Nigeria. According to him the evil practice is wicked and a disservice to God and humanity.

In this same vein, Ogu has called upon government of the people’s Republic of China to reconsider the high tariff imposed on agricultural export products to China.

He made this call during the global digital expo conference in Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province.

This was in response to the question on the inability of Nigeria to export and trade agricultural produce from Nigeria to China.

Ogu stated that Nigeria is disadvantaged because of the Chinese authorities classification of Nigeria as a developed economy and as such imposed more than two digits taxation on goods and products from the country.

He canvassed that this regime of tariff should be revisited by the Chinese central government in Beijing to allow the Nigerian businessmen and their Chinese partners to participate in the new Chinese global digital economic promotion.
