Nigerian Immigration Removed Bobrisky From Amsterdam-bound KLM Flight
Nigerian social media personality, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight and detained by immigration officers on Thursday night.
According to Bobrisky’s Instagram post, he alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was responsible for his detention and claimed to have sustained injuries during an altercation with immigration officers. Bobrisky posted, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
This incident follows previous controversies surrounding Bobrisky, including a six-month prison sentence for naira abuse in April 2024. Bobrisky was previously intercepted at the Sème border on October 22 while allegedly attempting to flee the country.
There have been various reports and allegations surrounding Bobrisky’s imprisonment and subsequent events, including:
<span;>- Accusations of special treatment and bribery regarding his imprisonment
<span;>- Allegations that Bobrisky spent only three weeks in Kirikiri Prison before being discreetly moved to a private location
<span;>- Claims of a ₦15 million payment made to officials to secure his transfer and preferential conditions
In response to recent allegations, Bobrisky denied making defamatory statements against music artist Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana. Falz and Femi Falana had issued a cease-and-desist letter demanding a retraction and public apology regarding an audio recording allegedly involving Bobrisky.
The situation is developing, and further information will be provided as available.
