Abuja, Nigeria – Lynda Akawo, a dedicated and accomplished Nigerian lawyer, has marked a significant milestone in her illustrious career, celebrating 10 years since being called to the Nigerian Bar. This achievement bears eloquent testimony to her unwavering commitment to the legal profession.

Akawo took to social media to share her excitement, highlighting the significance of this milestone. “With my 10 years of post-call experience, I’ve reached a critical juncture in my career,” she stated. “This milestone unlocks three pivotal opportunities: I’m now qualified to apply as a Judge of the High Court or courts of coordinate jurisdiction, eligible for the prestigious Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank, and officially recognised as a Senior Lawyer across Africa.”

For Akawo, this anniversary holds special significance, as it brings her closer to realising her long-held aspiration to join the judiciary. “I have a 100% passion for the Bench; sometimes I feel that’s my original calling,” she revealed. Her desire to serve as a judge stems from a deep commitment to upholding justice and contributing to the development of Nigeria’s legal system.
