ABUJA — The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reinstated its National Identification Number (NIN) verification services throughout the country after successfully completing essential system maintenance.
In a statement issued on Friday and shared with Vanguard, the Commission confirmed that all previously interrupted services have now resumed.
“NIMC wishes to inform the public that the recent technical maintenance has been finalised, and all services have been restored,” the statement read.
The Commission advised Nigerians interested in enrolling for a NIN to visit its official website to find the nearest enrolment centres. It also encouraged users to access the self-service portal for data updates, such as name changes.
Additionally, NIMC urged the public to download the NIMC NameAuth app (oath.app) from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to verify and authenticate their NINs.
The Commission expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and understanding during the temporary service disruption.
It is worth noting that banks, telecom operators, and various government agencies that depend on NIN verification experienced service delays and disruptions over the past week, impacting their operations.
