Kaduna, Nigeria – Kachalla Tukur Sharme, a notorious bandit commander, has been killed in a violent clash with a rival gang in Kaduna State. The incident occurred over the weekend in the Rijana and Kaso Forests, which span across Kachia and parts of Chikun and Kajuru Local Government areas.
According to Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sharme’s gang was responsible for a string of attacks, killings, and kidnappings in several communities, including Millenium City, Maraban Rido, and Kujama.
“Kachalla Sharme’s reign of terror has finally come to an end,” Aruwan said. “His gang’s activities had caused immense suffering to many innocent citizens.”

Sharme was infamous for masterminding the kidnapping of 121 students from Bethel Baptist High School in July 2021. He had repeatedly evaded security forces, but ultimately fell to his fellow terrorists.
The clash resulted in the deaths of Sharme, his gang members, and two bandits from the rival group. Five bandits were injured and are currently seeking medical attention. Additionally, some kidnapped victims managed to escape during the chaos.
Commissioner Aruwan warned residents against assisting suspicious individuals seeking medical help for gun wounds. “We urge citizens to report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency or contact the Kaduna State Security Operations Room at 09034000060 or 08170189999,” he said.
