The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested six individuals accused of violently stealing motorcycles in Kano State. The suspects, known for targeting unsuspecting victims, were apprehended in Gurin Gawa and Bechi, areas within Kumbotso Local Government Area.
Confirming the development on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Kano Command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, stated, “The six suspects are currently in our custody. Investigations are ongoing to facilitate appropriate legal action.”
The arrested individuals, identified as Najib Lawal (25), Bashir Bello Idris (34), Lawan Yakubu (27), Kabiru Garba (29), Hussain Hassan (24), and Mubarak Basiru (21), are suspected members of a gang responsible for a series of motorcycle thefts in the region.
Abdullahi assured the public that the NSCDC remains committed to maintaining security and combating crime in Kano State, urging residents to report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
