Oganenigu People’s Mandate Commends Governor Usman Ododo Over Road Construction

The Oganenigu People’s Mandate, OPM, has expressed gratitude to Governor Usman Ododo over the award and commencement of the Iyale-Odolu Oganenigu road.

The group’s president, Prophet Abimaje, described the development as a historic moment that will go down in history as a testament to the governor’s commitment to the people.

“By this singular act, Governor Ododo will go down in history as the Governor who wiped away our tears,” Abimaje said, urging the governor and stakeholders to ensure strict monitoring to guarantee quality job delivery.

The construction of the road, spanning 11 communities in Oganenigwu Ward, Dekina Local Government Area, aims to open up rural communities and ease transportation challenges. The project is expected to be completed within an 18-month contract period.

Critical stakeholders such as Dr Ocholi, Hon Umar Isa Edibo, Hon Abu Omede and others too numerous for mention from Oganenigu Ward, commended Governor Ododo for keeping his campaign promises, describing him as a “perpetual promise keeper”.

The Kogi State Government has expressed commitment to ensuring the project’s timely completion, with the Ministry of Energy and Rural Development overseeing the project.

The people of Oganenigwu Ward have expressed excitement over the development, noting that the road had been in a deplorable state for several decades, leading to enormous losses of abundant farm produce due to lack of access roads to nearby markets.

Improved road connectivity is expected to enhance accessibility between rural areas, nearby cities, and markets, facilitating easier access to goods, services, and employment opportunities. This increased connectivity can lead to higher incomes for farmers and local businesses, stimulating the local economy. Better roads will also reduce transportation costs, resulting in significant savings for individuals and companies. These savings can then be reinvested in expanding operations or hiring more workers.

The construction of this road is a welcome development for the people of Oganenigwu Ward, who have long suffered from the lack of access to nearby markets and essential services. With this new road, farmers will be able to transport their produce more efficiently, and residents will have better access to healthcare and education.
