Ondo State Governor, [Governor’s Name], has flagged off the distribution of fertilizers to farmers across the 18 local government areas of the state, in a bid to address the growing menace of food insecurity.
“Food insecurity is a serious menace ravaging the whole world, and Ondo State and Nigeria are not left out. It’s a critical issue that demands immediate attention and collective action,” the Governor said during the flag-off ceremony.
To combat this challenge, the Governor emphasized the need to prioritize interventions that enhance food production at all levels. “We must work together to provide food security for our people,” he stressed.
The distribution includes 5,520 bags of NPK 20-10-10, 4,140 bags of NPK 27-13-13, 4,140 bags of NPK 15-15-15, and 4,200 bags of Urea fertilizers. The Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for directing the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide fertilizers to all states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“I thank my Leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his support in this initiative,” the Governor said. “I also thank our farmers and the good people of Ondo State for their trust and cooperation. Together, we will combat this menace and provide food security for our people.”
The fertilizer distribution is seen as a significant step towards addressing food insecurity in Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole. With the collective effort of the government, farmers, and the people, the state is poised to make significant strides in ensuring food security for its citizens.
