Operation Hadin Kai: Major Blow to Terrorist Supply Networks

In a strategic initiative aimed at eradicating terrorism and reinstating peace in the North East, troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), alongside the Air Component, the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters, have successfully arrested numerous accomplices involved in providing communication tools, illegal drugs, IED-making materials, and arms to terrorist groups.

Major General Markus Kangye, the Director of Defence Media Operations, announced that from 15 to 22 July 2025, several terrorists were eliminated during ambushes and patrols targeting their hideouts.

On 19 July, troops apprehended Mallam Aminu Idris at a checkpoint on the Kano–Maiduguri route, where he was found transporting unauthorised Starlink communication equipment. That same day, they arrested drug dealer Mr. Ali Abba, who was carrying large quantities of tramadol and diazepam.

Further operations yielded small arms, ammunition, IED components, and various supplies. Between 18 and 22 July, troops executed several ambushes, successfully thwarting planned infiltrations in Bama, Monguno, and Konduga.

On 15 July, troops intercepted suspected terrorist logistics in Madagali LGA, recovering motorcycles, food items, and cement. The subsequent day saw the arrest of seven individuals suspected of supplying provisions to insurgents.

On 17 July, patrols in Gwoza LGA led to a confrontation with terrorists, resulting in one neutralised and others fleeing. A night ambush by the 27 Task Force Brigade on 18 July resulted in the death of one terrorist and the recovery of weapons.

Troops also intercepted smuggled PMS along Maiduguri–Mafa road and confiscated IED-making materials in Madagali on 20 July, thwarting an attempted infiltration in Monguno.

On 21 July, ten family members of terrorists surrendered in Bama LGA while several collaborators, including a minor informant, were arrested.

On 22 July, troops seized a logistics truck on its way to Gamboru from Maiduguri, recovering solar equipment and other supplies.

The intensified efforts of OPHK have considerably disrupted the logistics operations of Boko Haram and ISWAP, undermining their capabilities and denying them vital resources. The Armed Forces of Nigeria commend the valour of their troops and reaffirm their dedication to restoring lasting peace and security in the region.
