Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen made a memorable debut for Galatasaray, providing a crucial assist in their 5-0 thrashing of Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.
“I’m delighted to have made a positive impact on my debut,” Osimhen said. “Although I didn’t score, I’m happy to have contributed to the team’s win.”
Osimhen’s performance was a key factor in Galatasaray’s dominant display, with the 25-year-old playing the full 90 minutes and involved in several promising moments.
“Victor was excellent today,” Galatasaray coach, Okan Buruk, praised. “He worked hard and created chances for his teammates. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Despite not finding the net, Osimhen’s impact on the game was undeniable, with his assist for Abdulkerim Bardakci’s strike a highlight of the match.
“I was close to scoring, but the goalkeeper made some great saves,” Osimhen reflected. “I’ll keep working hard to score my first goal for the club.”
With his debut assist in the bag, Osimhen has given Galatasaray fans plenty to look forward to as they aim to build on their unbeaten start to the season.
“Victor’s arrival has given us a new dimension,” Buruk added. “We’re excited to see what he can bring to the team in the coming weeks.”
