Crisis Rocks FCT PDP As Non Indigines Accuse Party Leadership of Nepotism, Marginalization
A grassroot support and advocacy group in the Nigeria main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), has described the minority NWC members and  a National Secretary impostor’s visit to the Rivers State Governor on Wednesday as a rage day hustling and failed agents of distraction and destruction.

The group said the visit is of no significance because the Acting National Chairman and the National Secretary are not part of the visit because they are busy working for the party by attending the first inter party meeting with the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

The National Treasurer Ahmed Mohammed Yari, National Financial Secretary Daniel Woyegikuro, National Woman leader Amina Arong, National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade and the embattled National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba led by the National Treasurer Ahmed Mohammed Yari, paid a visit to the embattled Governor of Rivers State Sir Siminaliyi Fubara.

During the visit, they claimed to have recognized him as the leader of the party in the state & the group of Action Peoples Party (APP) members as purported PDP caretaker executive committee members in the state.

CPDPL in a mockery terser statement signed by its director of Media, Strategic Communication and Advocacy, Hajiya Hauwa Ibrahim Magaji, mocked both the Rivers State governor, the few NWC members and national secretary impostor excitement over what she called, “a caricature visit”.

She said, “it’s very unfortunate that, while the acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Illiya Damagum and the National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu are at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) busy working for the interest of the party, the Rivers State governor is excited about a caricature visit by a few rebel NWC members who are doing their last minute rage day hustling, knowing fully well that in a couple of months, their tenure will be soon over”.

She said, “is Governor Fubara given PDP faithfuls and Nigerians the impression that he’s aligning with elements of destruction whose intentions are to cause division within the party that gave him the platform today to be who he is? We are not truly surprised.

Hajiya Magaji further blasts the rebel National Working Committee members for their reconciletrant statements of recognizing the purported caretaker committee and the governor as the leader of the party in the state during their visit to the governor of Rivers State.

“The rebel NWC members needs to read again the PDP constitution as amended 2017 to know that, they don’t have the power to do what they are doing. They are arrogating to themselves the powers they don’t have.”

“I want to therefore state emphatically that, as a group, we have ceased to recognize Honourable Debo Olugunagba as the PDP national publicity Secretary, and we stand for the following;
1. Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka remains the Rivers State PDP chairman and all the state, local government area and ward executive committee members elected on 27 July, 10 and 31 August, 2024 respectively, in consonant with the PDP constitution as amended 2017 and the electoral act as amended 2022, as against the claim of Hon. Debo’s.

2. That His Excellency Barr. Chief Nyesom Wike remains the Rivers State PDP leader, as against Hon. Debo’s claim for very obvious reasons

3. That Sen. Samuel Anyanwu remains the National Secretary of our great party pending the supreme Court judgement on the matter as against Hon. Debo’s false claim, which has informed their galavanting from one governor to another seeking for recognition for an impostor.

It’s a big shame that, these crops of NWC members has fallen short of the expectations of ninety nine percent of PDP faithfuls, she concluded.”
