Crisis Rocks FCT PDP As Non Indigines Accuse Party Leadership of Nepotism, Marginalization

The national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, has accused some party officials of forging and cloning his signature on an official document sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in relation to the forthcoming national convention on November 15 and 16, 2025.

In three separate petitions dated October 15, 2025, and addressed to INEC, the State Security Service (SSS), and the Nigeria Police Force, Mr Anyanwu called for an investigation and prosecution of those behind what he described as a “criminal act.”

The petitions referenced a letter with the number PDP/DOM/GF.2/Vol.1M/25-140, dated August 25, 2025, purportedly signed by him and addressed to INEC regarding the party’s 2025 elective national convention.

Mr Anyanwu said the letter was not authorised or known to him, expressing shock that his signature was cloned and used on an official party document.

“Regrettably, the quoted letter was never signed, authorised or known to me. It is shocking to have a forged or cloned version of my signature on the letter.

“I, therefore, request that this criminal conduct by officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their collaborators within INEC be investigated and the culprits prosecuted,” he said.

Each of the petitions, which Peoples Gazette obtained on Sunday, contained an excerpt of the alleged forged document for reference and was acknowledged by the relevant agencies between October 15 and 16, 2025.

The development comes amid preparations for the PDP’s 2025 elective national convention and growing speculation over internal divisions within the major opposition party.

Mr Anyanwu said his actions were to safeguard the integrity of the PDP and ensure that official communications from the party remain authentic.
