The Cross River State Chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has endorsed Senator Sandy Onor of the People Democratic Party ahead of the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections slated for this Saturday, March 11, 2023.
State Chairman of PFN in Cross River, Dr Lawrence Ekwok, who announced the unanimous decision while addressing  journalists in Calabar, tofay (Monday, 6 March, 2023, disclosed that the move became imperative in order to project the most viable candidate with better intentions for the state.
According to Ekwok ” the precarious predicament of our state demanded that the Church plays an active role in the emergence of the next political leadership in our state, bearing in mind that kings are always anointed by prophets as exemplified in the Bible “
He disclosed that a strategic advisory committee, comprising 12 persons was set up to develop a template for quizzing the three leading candidates to ascertain their visions, intentions,
economic blueprint and individual capacity for the envisaged office.
The clergy revealed the 12- member committee met five times during which the three candidates interfaced with the committee to intimate members with their goals and intentions.
“After a careful and meticulous assessment of Senator Prince Otu of the APC, Senator Sandy Onor of PDP as well as Pastor Usani Usani, who is the governorship candidate of the People Redemption Party (PRP), 11 of the 12 members voted overwhelmingly in favour of an outright endorsement of the PDP candidate”.
“The procedure was replicated in every structure of the PFN involving state, local government areas, districts and wards to ensure every executive strata of the body was captured “.
“At the end of proceedings, featuring a total of  460 delegates, a total of 260 voted for the adoption of Senator Sandy Onor as the preferred candidate of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Cross River State”.
