Abuja – The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims during a coordinated operation in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, said the rescue followed a distress call received on September 29, 2025, from a resident of Euga village reporting the abduction of three men — Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal — by unknown gunmen.
According to Wakil, the Command immediately launched a joint operation involving personnel from the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, and Nabordo Division, in collaboration with local security groups.
“The joint team successfully tracked the suspects to the outskirts of Euga village and engaged them in a professional operation that led to the safe rescue of the victims, who were unharmed,” Wakil stated.
He identified the arrested suspects as Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the rescued victims have been reunited with their families in good health, while investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the abduction.
Wakil added that the suspects have begun providing useful information to investigators and will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for further interrogation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers involved in the operation for their swift response and professionalism. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly share credible information that could help security agencies in combating criminal activities across the state.
Aliyu reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens and maintaining peace in Bauchi State.
