Politician Usman Jauro Canvases Stronger Federal Support For Taraba Central

Gashaka, Taraba State – Usman Bobboi Jauro, an emerging political figure in Taraba Central, has called for deeper federal engagement in the Gashaka/Kurmi/Sardauna Federal Constituency, citing vast untapped opportunities across the region.

Jauro made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the Lamido of Gashaka, Alhaji Dr. Zubairu Hamman-Gabdo, as part of an ongoing consultation tour aimed at understanding community needs ahead of the 2027 political season.

Speaking at the palace, Jauro highlighted the region’s abundant human and natural resources, noting that with stronger visibility at the national level, the constituency could attract more federal-backed projects in infrastructure, security, education and economic development.

“Our people are resilient, peaceful and full of potential,” he said. “What we require now is consistent engagement with federal ministries, agencies and partners who can help us unlock the development our communities deserve. Taraba Central must take its rightful place in the national conversation.”

Jauro stressed that his visit was not a political declaration but a listening tour designed to gather insights from traditional institutions and stakeholders. He described traditional rulers as the primary custodians of community aspirations whose guidance is essential for any meaningful development effort.

In his response, the Lamido of Gashaka commended the initiative, noting that regular interaction with traditional leaders strengthens governance and enhances the understanding of grassroots needs.

Although Jauro has not formally indicated interest in contesting for any position in 2027, his engagements have sparked growing speculation about his preparedness to offer a fresh style of representation. Supporters say his development-focused message aligns with the constituency’s renewed desire for stronger advocacy in Abuja.

Residents across the constituency continue to express optimism that voices like Jauro’s could help draw the federal attention long overdue for Taraba Central.
