Mrs Adedoyin Odunuga, the wife of prominent Nigerian gospel singer, Damilare Odunuga, professionally known as Dare Melody, is dead.
This was announced in a statement on Instagram late Thursday by Dare Melody, who expressed grief over the loss of his wife.
It was learned that Adedoyin passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
The bereaved singer described his late wife as a “beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend.”
He wrote: “BLACK DAY @ DM MULTIMEDIA – DM Multimedia Mourns The Demise Of The Wife Of The Chairman (Evang. Dare Melody).”
DM Multimedia released an official statement earlier on Friday confirming her passing.
Described as a cherished figure among family, friends, and colleagues, the DM Multimedia community shared the sorrowful message, noting, “You will forever be in our hearts,” as they honoured her memory.
A fellow gospel singer, Esther Igbekele, also posted about the demise of Dare Melody’s wife on her Facebook page.
She said: “This is a very rude shock for me. We were together 10 days ago at your husband @officialdaremelody birthday thanksgiving party. I never knew that will be the last day I will see you. Wow!
“I’m saddened with the news of your demise. May your soul rest in peace and May God grant your family the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
Messages of condolence have poured in for Dare Melody and his family, with DM Multimedia asking the public to keep them in their thoughts during this difficult time.
The cause of her death and details about the burial arrangements have yet to be disclosed.
