Qatar has strongly denied Israeli allegations that its humanitarian aid to Gaza was connected to the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023.
The claims were made by Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, but Qatar dismissed them as an attempt to shift blame for political reasons.
In a statement, Qatar’s International Media Office reaffirmed the country’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people. It emphasized that Qatari aid has always consisted of essential humanitarian supplies such as food, medicine, and electricity. The statement also noted that all aid deliveries were made with the full knowledge and oversight of Israeli authorities, including Shin Bet itself.
“No aid has ever been delivered to Hamas’s political or military wings,” Qatar said, urging Israeli security agencies to focus on resolving the hostage crisis rather than making accusations.
Qatar also suggested that these allegations were an attempt to prolong the conflict rather than seek a resolution. Despite the criticism, the Gulf nation vowed to continue its mediation efforts, stating that diplomacy remains the only path to lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
