South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered the arrest of radio presenter Penny Ntuli and her friend after a roadside twerking video of the duo went viral.
The clip, which spread quickly across social media, showed Ntuli and her companion dancing in a provocative manner close to moving vehicles on a busy road. The video sparked mixed reactions from the public. While some viewers saw it as harmless fun, many others criticized the act as careless and dangerous.
The Presidency reacted strongly to the incident, describing it as a reckless display that could have put both the dancers and motorists in danger. According to the Presidency, freedom of expression should not put lives at risk or encourage unsafe behavior in public spaces.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that investigations are already ongoing to identify and arrest those involved in the video. Officials added that such actions will not be tolerated as they threaten public safety.
