Saudi Arabia is set to revolutionise the world of sports with a $1 billion stadium that will float 1,150 feet above the ground inside its futuristic vertical city,
The Line, part of the NEOM mega-project. The stadium, designed by world-famous architects Bjarke Ingels Group, will seat up to 46,000 fans and is expected to host matches during the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Built with sustainability in mind, the stadium will run on solar and wind energy, making it a smart, green future project where technology and entertainment come together in bold new ways.
“NEOM Stadium will be the most unique stadium in the world,” the official bid submission stated. With its pitch situated more than 350 meters above ground, stunning vistas, and a roof created from the city itself, the stadium will be an experience like no other.
The stadium will be located on levels four and five of The Line, offering breathtaking views of the Red Sea and the vast landscapes. Visitors will arrive via high-speed elevators and AI vehicles, ensuring seamless access to the stadium. The entire complex will be powered by renewable energy, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s efforts towards sustainability.
The construction of the stadium is set to begin in 2027, with completion aimed for 2032. Once ready, the World Cup quarter-finals are expected to take place at the venue. This ambitious project is part of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, showcasing the country’s commitment to innovative and sustainable sports infrastructure.
