Sen Natasha’s Homecoming: Kogi Govt  Ban Rallies, Regulates Security Convoys
The Kogi State Government has issued a press statement announcing a ban on rallies and regulation of security convoys entering the state, citing credible intelligence reports of potential security breaches.
According to the statement, the government remains committed to protecting the lives and property of all residents and ensuring the state remains a haven of peace and security. “In light of credible intelligence reports, the government has deemed it necessary to take proactive measures to prevent any form of security breach that could destabilize the state,” the statement reads.
The government has also suspended all fishing activities in Kogi Local Government Area until peace is completely restored, following a crisis that resulted in the loss of two lives. Security operatives have been deployed to the affected areas to restore peace and implement the directive.
Additionally, the government has deployed security to calm a communal clash between Ika-Odele and Ika Ochala in Ankpa Local Government Area, and has banned all forms of rallies or public gatherings that could disrupt public peace.
The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, has met with the leadership of the Kogi State Traditional Council to agree on modalities for ensuring peace and security in the state. The Royal Fathers commended the Chief Servant for his proactive measures to protect lives and property.
The government has also directed that any individual or group entering the state with a convoy of security personnel must obtain prior clearance from state commands of the deploying services. This measure aims to prevent unauthorized movement of armed individuals and ensure only duly accredited security agents operate within the state.
The State Government has assured residents that these measures are temporary and necessary for the greater good of all. “Together, we can continue to build a safer and more secure Kogi State,” the statement concludes.
