Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho Completes Ultra-Modern Market in Dekina, Unveils Plans for More Development
Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho has completed the construction of ultra-modern market shops at the Dekina Central Market, marking a significant milestone in his commitment to economic growth and infrastructure development in Kogi State.
The newly commissioned market complex aims to boost local commerce by providing traders with a modern and conducive business environment. Speaking on behalf of the senator, his aide Salisu Edibo emphasized that the project aligns with Senator Echocho’s broader vision for community empowerment and economic sustainability.
“This project is a testament to the senator’s unwavering commitment to improving the business climate in Dekina and beyond. A well-structured market will not only enhance trade but also create employment and economic opportunities for our people,” Edibo stated.
In addition to the completed market shops, Senator Echocho announced plans to construct 50 additional shops, a modern abattoir, public toilets, a borehole, and solar-powered streetlights in the market. These projects are expected to enhance sanitation, security, and overall market efficiency.
The senator also pledged to replicate similar developments in other local government areas, including Afogamgam Market (Ankpa LGA), Ugbamaka Market (Omala LGA), Ejule Market (Ofu LGA), and Sheria Market (Bassa LGA).
The project’s completion was officially handed over to the local government, with key dignitaries present, including Chairman Hon. John Urah Ikani, Vice Chairman Hajiya Rashidat Abdullahi, and SLG Salihu Muhammed, alongside traditional rulers.
