Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has reaffirmed that his constituency projects across Cross River North are designed to complement the development strides of Governor Bassey Otu’s administration aimed at transforming rural communities and boosting economic growth.
The Senator made this known during the commissioning of the Igwo and Betukwel roads in Obudu Local Government Area where he also inspected ongoing works at the Betukwel Ultra-Modern Town Hall and the Amukwong Bridge in Alege and Ubang communities.
He said his projects are inspired by the need to support the state government’s Renewed Hope agenda, which has begun to restore the region’s lost glory through visible infrastructural development.
“My passion to embark on these projects is driven by the quest to complement the ongoing efforts of our amiable governor, Prince Bassey Otu, in stimulating economic development in Cross River North. It is heartwarming that within two years in office, he has demonstrated tenacity and commitment to addressing our challenges, unlike the last administration that spent eight years with no visible impact in our localities,” Senator Jarigbe said.
He thanked the people of Cross River North for their steadfast support and assured them that more projects would be completed soon to further improve living standards and open up rural communities for investment opportunities.
At Igwo, the Clan Head, His Royal Highness Utsu Cornelius Ulem, expressed gratitude to the Senator for bringing long-awaited development to the area. He said the newly constructed road will ease transportation, enhance local trade, and improve the community’s economy.
Residents of Betukwel described the road and town hall projects as life-changing interventions that will strengthen social and economic activities.
At Alege and Ubang, community members commended the Senator for facilitating the Amukwong Bridge, describing it as a project that will boost connectivity and promote commerce in the area.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Chief Austin Edibe, Prof. Zana Akpagu, Mr. John Atsu, Hon. Kingsley Agabi, Mr. Jimmy Anenige, Hon. Charles Eneji, and Mr. Egar Mgbantul. The event ended with a festive atmosphere as residents celebrated what they described as a new dawn of development in Obudu and beyond.
