A Board member of Taraba State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Evangelist Jesse Ephesians has condemne insulting words on the State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas by an activist Omoyele Sowore on none performance.
He made the condemnation in a statement made available to Journalists in Jalingo.
“t is with profound disappointment and utter disdain that we address the recent venomous and uncouth outburst from one Mr Omoyele Sowore, directed at the amiable and revered Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas.
“In what can only be described as a senseless and uncivilized tirade, Mr. Sowore has, true to form, abandoned all decorum and respect for the esteemed office of the Governor.
“His comments, laced with baseless vitriol and personal attacks, represent the very nadir of public discourse and stand condemned by all right-thinking members of society.
According to him, Governor Agbu Kefas is a man of impeccable character, a dedicated public servant, and a respected leader who is tirelessly working to reposition Taraba State on the path of sustainable development, does not deserve such indignity.
“To insult a man of his caliber is to insult the entire good people of Taraba who overwhelmingly bestowed their mandate upon him.
“It is, however, no secret that Mr. Sowore feeds on social media antics and cunning behavior to attract fleeting attention. Having failed to gain relevance through credible means and constructive engagement, he has resorted to a tired playbook of hurling insults and manufacturing controversies to stay afloat in the public consciousness.
“This latest stunt is not an act of activism but a desperate cry for relevance from a man whose political capital has long been depleted by his own erratic conduct.
“His outburst lacks any iota of factual foundation, intellectual depth, or civic purpose.
Evangelist Ephesians pointed out that Sowore is making hollow noise designed to trend, not to inform or improve.
“Governor Kefas is busy with the serious business of governance—initiating policies, building infrastructure, and securing the future of Taraban.
“Sowore is busy crafting his next 280-character defamation, proving himself to be an irritant rather than an stakeholder in Nigeria’s democracy.
“We, therefore, demand in the strongest terms possible that Mr. Omoyele Sowore immediately and unequivocally, Issue a comprehensive public apology to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his unfounded and inflammatory statements and Publicly refute and retract every single insult and falsehood meted out against the person and office of the Governor.
He pointed out thatTarabans will not stand idly by while their beloved leader is maligned by a merchant of chaos.
“We expect Mr. Sowore to retract his words and apologize; failure to do so will only serve as a permanent testament to his character or lack thereof.
“Taraba State is moving forward under the focused leadership of Dr. Agbu Kefas, and we will not be distracted by the senseless noise of those who dwell on the sidelines of progress – he said.

Sowore Condemns Taraba Governor Kefas Over “Fake Promises”, Decaying Schools, Deadly Roads As Residents Groan.
Sowore said the governor has placed more priority on his (Agbu) personal comfort than abandoned schools, collapsing roads, and the welfare of the people.
Omoyele Sowore, condemned Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, for deceiving residents of the state and Nigerians with “fake promises” of free education.
Sowore said the governor has placed more priority on his (Agbu) personal comfort than abandoned schools, collapsing roads, and the welfare of the people.
The fiery activist, in a series of posts on his Facebook page, accompanied with pictures, said that Governor Kefas has turned Taraba into “a symbol of failed promises and misplaced priorities.”
In one of the posts, Sowore, a former Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), said, “Taraba Under Agbu Kefas: From Fake Free Education to Terrible Roads.
“Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State is fast becoming a symbol of failed promises and misplaced priorities. He boasts of “free education,” yet schools remain abandoned, underfunded, and without infrastructure.
Sowore revealed that in Donga Local Government Area, only 30–40 minutes from the Governor’s hometown of Wukari, students in a science school are left to rot in dilapidated buildings with no hope for quality education.
“The decay is not limited to schools. Across Taraba, the road network is collapsing. In the northern part of the state, the road to Karim Lamido LGA is virtually impassable,” he said.
“In ruins now is the road from Wukari to Abuja, which also links Taraba to Nasarawa State. Also abandoned is the vital road leading to Kurmi LGA. Even the international route connecting Taraba to Cameroon has broken, and people have forgotten it.”
Sowore further noted that in Wukari, the governor’s hometown, the inequality is glaring, stressing that the government fully tarred and fitted the road leading to his personal house with solar lights.
“Yet those of neighbours who live just behind him are left struggling with erosion, darkness, and neglect,” he said.
“This hypocrisy speaks louder than his promises, he secures comfort for himself while leaving his neighbours and the rest of Taraba in misery.
“People who lived in the same hometown as him, only a stone’s throw from his residence in Wukari.
“The contrast between the governor’s private comfort and the suffering of the surrounding people is an insult to justice and fairness.”
He emphasised that Taraba State deserves roads that connect its communities, schools that provide its children with a future, and leadership that serves everyone, “not one that hides behind a façade of “free education” while diverting resources to personal comfort.”
In another post, Sowore said that in Taraba State today, the only functioning road is the one that leads directly to the home of the “self-centered” Governor Kefas.
In another post, the activist said that across the state, communities are left stranded with broken and impassable roads, while Governor Kefas secures only his own comfort, noting that the contrast could not be more damning.
“At the same time, his government peddles propaganda, claiming that “investors are flooding” Taraba.
“Yet, the reality tells a different story. The so-called Trade Fair Center in Jalingo, into which more than N10billion has already been sunk, remains incomplete, reduced to nothing but a few lonely pillars standing as monuments of waste,” he wrote.
“It is the perfect picture of leadership that serves itself while abandoning the people. Across the state, schools are left to rot, clean drinking water is unavailable, and roads have collapsed in key areas like Karim Lamido, Ussa, and Mayo-Ndaga.
“The basic foundations of governance, education, infrastructure, and public utilities have been neglected, leaving ordinary citizens to suffer while the governor hides behind empty rhetoric.
“Some of these photos were taken as recently as last week, yet they look like scenes pulled straight out of 1945 during the Second World War.
“That is the level of neglect and decay Taraba people are forced to endure in 2025 under Agbu Kefas disastrous rule.”
Also, in another post attached with a photo of students sitting on the floor during lessons, Sowore said, “Taraba State of Education in 2025, not 1945.”
According to him, Taraba students are still writing exams on the floor while billions of Naira have been stolen from the state’s public funds and children of the state abandoned.
