UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has warned Vladimir Putin that “Russia does not hold all the cards” as the world marks three years since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Speaking during a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Ukraine. He announced a new package of sanctions aimed at crippling Russia’s war machine, targeting its shadow fleet and companies in China and elsewhere supplying military components to Moscow.
The UK’s move comes as Ukraine continues to fight against Russian forces, with Western allies looking to tighten economic pressure on Putin’s regime. Starmer’s remarks highlight a firm stance against Russian aggression, reinforcing international support for Kyiv in its ongoing struggle for sovereignty.
