In a strongly worded statement, Distinguished Comrade Lawrence Temidayo, popularly known as KONIBAJE, a renowned community leader and global activist, has condemned what he described as politically motivated accusations against the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Isaac Omowumi.
The statement comes in response to a recent blog post circulated by a group identified as Ilaje youth, alleging that Hon. Omowumi is responsible for the stagnation of government progress in the state. Comrade Temidayo denounced the claims as baseless and malicious, asserting that they are part of a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of one of Ondo State’s most respected public officials.
“This attack is not only malicious but also an attempt to destroy the hard-earned reputation of a leader who has shown exceptional dedication to the financial growth and stability of Ondo State,” Temidayo stated.
“It is appalling that these politically sponsored youth would stoop so low as to spread false accusations against someone whose contributions to the state are both undeniable and commendable.”
Temidayo highlighted Hon. Omowumi’s track record, praising her for her commitment to financial accountability and her role in ensuring fiscal stability within the state.
He described the accusations as a desperate move by politically frustrated individuals whose personal expectations from the government may have been unmet.
“The baseless claim that she is the reason for the government’s lack of progress is nothing more than an unfounded allegation meant to serve selfish political interests,” he said.
“Hon. Omowumi has served with integrity, managing public funds with professionalism and dedication. She deserves recognition for her contributions, not slander.”
Reaffirming his support, Temidayo expressed full confidence in Hon. Omowumi’s leadership, emphasizing that her appointment by Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa was based on her proven competence and excellence in managing public resources.
“As a student nationalist and a well-wisher of the people of Ondo State, I stand firmly with Hon. Isaac Omowumi. She embodies accountability, knowledge, and integrity. I am confident that her wealth of experience will continue to benefit our state,” Temidayo affirmed.
He called on the public to disregard the false publication and unite in support of leaders committed to the growth and development of Ondo State.
“Let us work together to build a state, community, and nation where democracy and accountability thrive, free from bitterness and divisive politics,” Temidayo concluded.
