The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Taraba State Chapter, Alhaji Aminu Jauro Hassan, has called on residents of Taraba to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious or tribal differences.
In his New Year message for 2025, Hassan commended the people of Jalingo Local Government for their commitment to love, tolerance, and harmony, urging them to sustain these values.
He stressed that peaceful coexistence is critical for governments at both the state and local levels to provide essential social services effectively.
“We should see ourselves as one and continue to sustain the momentum of being our brothers’ keepers,” Hassan stated.
The chairman expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and to Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for entrusting him with the role of Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government.
He also lauded the people of Jalingo and Taraba State for their support and cooperation with the government.
Hassan emphasized the importance of security, noting that the government has invested significantly to ensure residents can live peacefully.
He assured citizens that 2025 would be marked by continued progress if unity and peace are maintained.
“I appeal to the people of Jalingo Local Government and Taraba State to be law-abiding and to support the administration’s programs so that 2025 can be a year of sustainability,” he said.
Hassan also appreciated religious leaders and the media for their efforts in promoting unity and carrying government messages to the people, encouraging them to continue in this vital role.
He concluded his message by wishing the people of Jalingo Local Government and the entire state success and prosperity in 2025.
